The Red Bluff Round-up Board of Directors recently presented a donation of $30,000 to Todd Smith, President and Sr. Pat Manoli, Senior Director of Mission Integration of St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, to benefit the services associated with breast cancer detection and treatment provided by St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. The donation was made possible by the auction of a Polaris Ranger during the April 2014 Red Bluff Round-upTough Enough To Wear Pink rodeo performance. Also pictured with the Round-up Directors are Jan Sutherland and Les and Stacy Shank who were the successful bidders for the Ranger and Sue Ampi, Development Officer with Mercy Foundation North.
This year’s support from Tough Enough To Wear Pink will help establish the Nurse (RN) Navigator Program at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. This program will partner a certified Registered Nurse with breast cancer patients and their physician. The overall goal is to expedite treatment, inform the patient of treatment options, and to leave no patient behind.
Jolene Kemen, Red Bluff Round-up Director stresses “Tough Enough To Wear Pink is a community-wide event and many businesses, service organizations and individuals participate. Since 2006, Tough Enough To Wear Pink activities have brought over $282,000 in donations that benefit St. Elizabeth Community Hospital’s breast cancer related services.”
St. Elizabeth Community Hospital President, Todd Smith said “We are very grateful to the Red Bluff Round-up Association and all the organizations in Tehama County that participate in Tough Enough To Wear Pink for their continued generosity and support.”
Mercy Foundation North is a non-profit corporation as provided under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Foundation is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and is dedicated to supporting their activities throughout Northern California. Guided by the Sisters’ mission to care for those in need of physical, spiritual, social, and emotional healing, the Foundation raises money for Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta, Mercy Medical Center Redding, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Tehama County, Shasta Senior Nutrition Programs, Golden Umbrella as well as other sponsored works of the Sisters in the north state.
